The Face Shop Mango

Mango seed oil (also called mango butter when it is solid at room temperature) is pressed from the seed kernel of the mango fruit. It is high in oleic acid and stearic acid, both of which are found naturally in the skin's lipid barrier. In a face wash formula, mango seed oil helps compensate for the stripping effect that surfactants can have on the skin's moisture layer.

Cleansers rinse off quickly, so the oil's direct moisturising contribution is limited. Its main role is to make the cleansing step less harsh. Skin feels less tight or dry after washing compared to a standard foaming cleanser. This is why the Mango Seed line is positioned as a moisturising cleanser rather than a brightening or acne-focused one.

The Mango Seed line includes three foam variations. The Silk Moisturizing Cleansing Foam is the original, available in 150ml and 300ml. It lathers to a light, airy foam and is the most widely available format in this collection. The Mango Seed Creamy Foaming Cleanser (300ml) uses a slightly richer base and produces a denser foam, which suits drier skin or colder seasons when a lighter foam feels insufficient.

The Mango Seed Silk Moisturizing Cream Cleansing Foam (also in 150ml and 300ml) adds a cream texture before lathering, bridging the gap between a standard foam and a cream cleanser. The Creamy Silk Moisturizing Cleansing Foam (300ml) is the richest variant with the most pronounced cream character. If you are buying for the first time, the standard 150ml Silk Moisturizing Foam lets you test the formula before committing to a larger size.

The Mango Seed range includes two single-use removal formats: the 50-count Soft Cleansing Wipes and the 50-sheet Cleansing Tissues. The wipes are pre-moistened and remove makeup and surface buildup in one step without water. They are practical for travel, gym use, or a quick pre-shower removal step when you want to reduce the burden on the main cleanser.

The tissues are thinner dry sheets used with a makeup remover or toner applied to the sheet. They function more like a cotton pad alternative than a standalone wipe. Both formats contain mango seed extract to align with the line's moisture-focused positioning, though the contact time with skin in a wipe is brief.

The Lip Care Cream with Shea Butter and Mango is the only non-cleanser in this collection. It combines mango with shea butter, another high-oleic-acid ingredient, in a lip balm format. Shea butter is thicker and more occlusive than mango alone, which makes this balm suited to very dry or chapped lips that need a heavier barrier.

It works both as a daily lip moisturiser and as an overnight treatment applied generously before sleep. The formula is fragrance-based with a light mango scent, which is mild enough for most users but worth noting for anyone with fragrance sensitivity on the lips.

The 150ml Mango Seed foams last roughly four to six weeks with twice-daily use. The 300ml sizes last two to three months under the same conditions. The 300ml is a better value per ml and reduces how often you reorder, but the 150ml makes sense for travel, for a first purchase where you are not sure the texture suits you, or if you rotate between cleansers and do not use a single product every day.

Both the Silk Moisturizing Cleansing Foam and the Cream Cleansing Foam are available in both sizes. The Creamy Silk variant only comes in 300ml, which is fine if you already know the richer texture is what you want, but means no small trial option.

Normal to dry skin gets the most benefit from the Mango Seed line's moisture-preserving approach. The Cream Cleansing Foam variants (both Silk and Creamy Silk) are the best match for dry skin, as the cream-to-foam texture minimises stripping while still providing a thorough cleanse. The standard Silk Moisturizing Foam is better for normal skin that does not have pronounced dryness but still wants a gentle wash.

Oily skin may find the Mango Seed foams too rich as a daily cleanser, as mango seed oil is a heavier emollient. Combination skin can use the standard Silk Moisturizing Foam with adjustment: lighter use on the T-zone and a more thorough application on drier cheeks. Sensitive skin should check the ingredient list for fragrance before committing, as some variants in the line include mild fragrance components.

Use the Mango Seed foam as your second-step cleanser in a double cleanse, after an oil, balm, or micellar water has removed SPF and heavier makeup. In a single-step routine (no makeup or very light coverage), it works as the only cleanse step morning and evening. The foam rinses cleanly without residue, so there is no need to follow with a separate makeup remover if you are not wearing full coverage.

After cleansing, follow with a toner or essence before moisturising. The Mango Seed line does not include a toner or serum, so it pairs with any brand for the steps that follow. The Mango Lip Balm is applied as the last step in a skincare routine or as needed throughout the day.
