The Face Shop Bellmer

THE FACE SHOP is LG Household & Health Care's mass-market Korean beauty brand. Dr. Bellmer is a separate sub-line within it, positioned as a dermocosmetic range - cosmetics formulated to clinical dermatological standards for problem skin. The Dr. prefix is a brand positioning convention in Korean cosmetics rather than a medical certification; it signals a more clinical formulation approach compared to the standard FACE SHOP collections. Dr. Bellmer products use lower-fragrance formulas and actives selected for tolerance on compromised skin, consistent with a dermo-range approach.

The Dr. Bellmer Aminoclear Cleansing Water (300 ml) uses amino acid surfactants - milder than traditional sulphate or saponified cleansers - in a micellar format that removes makeup and surface impurities without a foaming step. At 300 ml it provides two to three months of once-daily use as a first-cleanse step. The Aminoclear Peeling Gel (130 ml) is the mechanical exfoliation step: applied to dry skin and rolled off, it lifts surface debris and dead skin cells without a chemical acid, appropriate for skin that cannot tolerate AHA/BHA exfoliants without irritation. The two Aminoclear products form the cleansing foundation of the Dr. Bellmer system.

The Clarifying sub-line is Dr. Bellmer's active blemish management range. The Clarifying Toner (200 ml) uses mild exfoliating and clarifying actives - typically BHA or a plant acid equivalent - to keep pores clear after cleansing. The Clarifying Moisturizer (available in two listing variants, including 120 ml) provides lightweight hydration alongside sebum-managing actives without a comedogenic base. The Clarifying Spot Soothing Patch targets individual active pimples with a hydrocolloid or active-soaked patch format that draws out bacteria and seals the spot from external contamination. The 2-sets Clarifying Foundation bundle adds a skin-tone-unifying finish over the blemish routine steps.

The Advanced Sika sub-line (Sika Toner 150 ml and Sika Emulsion 150 ml) uses centella asiatica (cica) as the primary active for a different phase of acne-prone skin care: post-breakout repair and barrier recovery. Centella's madecassoside and asiaticoside content reduces residual inflammation from healed breakouts and speeds barrier restoration. The Sika Toner applies after cleansing as the first liquid step; the Sika Emulsion seals in the toner actives and provides a medium-weight moisture layer without a heavy cream. Both are 150 ml, sized for two to three months of daily use. The Advanced Sika system is the appropriate choice when active breakouts have resolved and the focus shifts to healing post-acne redness and rebuilding the compromised barrier.

The Dr. Bellmer Ampoule Mask Vitaserin is a sheet mask loaded with a vitaserin-enriched ampoule. Vitaserin typically refers to a vitamin B-derivative complex (niacinamide or a similar serine-vitamin combination) that supports skin tone and reduces post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Used two to three times per week as a treatment top-up on the clarifying routine, the mask delivers concentrated actives through extended sheet contact time for a deeper penetration than a leave-on serum at the same application duration. It is the intensive treatment step within the Dr. Bellmer system.

The two Dr. Bellmer sub-systems address different phases of acne-prone skin management. Use the Clarifying system (toner, moisturiser, spot patches) when active breakouts are present and sebum management is the priority. Switch to the Advanced Sika system (sika toner, emulsion) when the skin has cleared but residual redness, post-acne marks, or barrier sensitivity remain. Most users with ongoing acne cycling will use Clarifying products during breakout phases and alternate with or add Advanced Sika products during clearer periods. The Aminoclear cleansing products and the Ampoule Mask Vitaserin work across both phases.

The Clarifying Spot Soothing Patch is a targeted treatment for individual active blemishes. Clean and dry the spot area before applying the patch; any moisture reduces adhesion. Apply the patch directly over the pimple, pressing firmly at the edges. For hydrocolloid-type patches, leave on for six to twelve hours or overnight; the patch turns white as it absorbs exudate from the pimple. Do not apply on cystic acne (the patch does not reach the depth of cystic nodules) or on open wounds. After removing the patch, the spot should be noticeably flatter and calmer; apply the Clarifying Moisturiser over the area to support further healing.

AM - Aminoclear Cleansing Water (removes overnight product) → Clarifying Toner → Advanced Sika Toner (if in repair phase) → Clarifying Moisturiser → SPF (from another line, not in current Dr. Bellmer range). PM - Aminoclear Cleansing Water (or Peeling Gel 2-3x per week) → Clarifying Toner → Ampoule Mask Vitaserin (2-3x per week, skip on peeling gel days) → Clarifying Moisturiser. On active breakout spots: Clarifying Spot Soothing Patch overnight. The Sika Toner and Emulsion replace the Clarifying Toner and Moisturiser during post-breakout recovery phases. Foundation: the Clarifying Foundation set for days when coverage is needed without disrupting the anti-blemish system.
