Leaders Mask

LEADERS offers two ceramide-focused masks: the Ceramide Moisturising Mask and the Prohydraceramide Mask. Ceramides are lipid molecules that make up a large portion of the skin's natural barrier. When ceramide levels are depleted - by aging, over-exfoliation, prolonged dry air exposure, or harsh cleansers - the barrier becomes permeable, causing moisture to escape and environmental irritants to penetrate more easily.

A ceramide mask applies concentrated ceramide actives directly to the skin surface for an extended contact time (typically 15 to 20 minutes), allowing them to supplement the skin's natural lipid matrix. The effect is reduced tightness, improved moisture retention, and a more resilient surface that reacts less to triggers.

The Prohydraceramide Mask combines ceramide with additional hydration technology, making it more intensive than the standard Ceramide Moisturising Mask. Both are appropriate for dry, sensitive, and barrier-compromised skin. Use one to three times per week for maintenance, or daily for one to two weeks during a reactive period.

The Pro Hydra Hyaluronic Mask focuses on hyaluronic acid-driven hydration. Hyaluronic acid is a water-binding molecule that holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water - in a sheet mask format, it is applied in high concentration with extended skin contact, driving hydration deeper than a serum applied and absorbed in a few minutes.

This mask suits any skin type that is experiencing dehydration: oily skin that is also dehydrated (a very common combination, often caused by water-based moisturisers that don't seal effectively), normal skin after a flight or in low-humidity environments, and dry skin during cold weather. The result after one use is noticeably plumper, smoother-feeling skin. The effect lasts longer with regular use as the skin's moisture reservoir is consistently replenished.

The Sika Calming Mask is built around Centella Asiatica (cica), one of the most evidence-backed calming botanicals in Korean skincare. Cica reduces skin inflammation, supports barrier repair, and calms redness. The 'Sika' name is a variant spelling of 'Cica' used by some Korean brands.

This mask is the go-to option in the LEADERS range for skin that is currently reactive, red, or irritated - after a cosmetic procedure, during a breakout phase where inflammation is the primary concern, after prolonged sun exposure, or during seasonal weather transitions that stress sensitive skin.

Because cica is inherently gentle, the Sika Calming Mask is appropriate even for skin that is too reactive to use other actives. It can be the first mask introduced after a period of skin trouble, used as a reset before introducing the ceramide or retinol masks.

The IMP-Retinol Mask at 25 ml brings retinol into the LEADERS sheet mask format. Retinol is one of the most studied anti-aging actives available - it accelerates cell turnover, stimulates collagen synthesis, and improves the appearance of fine lines, uneven texture, and hyperpigmentation over time. In a sheet mask format, the extended contact time allows the retinol to penetrate more deeply than a brief application.

Retinol formulas require some care:

• Start once a week and increase frequency gradually. Retinol can cause initial irritation (flaking, sensitivity) while the skin adjusts.
• Do not use on the same night as other strong actives like AHAs or BHAs.
• Use in the evening only - retinol degrades in UV exposure and increases photosensitivity.
• Apply SPF the following morning.

The IMP-Retinol Mask is for skin that has already established a stable routine and is ready to add an anti-aging treatment. It is not appropriate for pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, or for inflamed or actively reactive skin.

The Insolution Vaseline Nourishing Mask uses a petrolatum-based (vaseline) occlusive agent alongside nourishing ingredients. Petrolatum is one of the most effective occlusive agents known to dermatology - it creates a physical barrier that prevents water loss from the skin surface, allowing the skin barrier to repair itself undisturbed.

This mask is appropriate for severely dry or chapped skin - not daily dehydration, but the kind of pronounced dryness that comes with extreme cold, very dry climates, or skin that has been damaged by harsh treatments. It is also useful as an occasional ultra-nourishing treatment for anyone with persistently dry patches on the cheeks or around the mouth. The formula is rich and should be used on clean skin with no other product applied over it - the vaseline component seals everything in place, including anything underneath.

The LEADERS Mediu Amino line is a sub-range of masks that use amino acids as the primary active system, with each mask variant targeting a different skin concern:

• Mediu Amino Lifting Mask: Amino acid and peptide complex focused on skin firmness and a temporary lifting effect. Best for skin showing reduced elasticity around the jaw, cheeks, and under-eye area.
• Mediu Amino Moisture Mask: Amino acids combined with humectants for hydration. Amino acids in skincare help reinforce the skin's Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF) - the naturally occurring moisture system in the upper skin layers.
• Mediu Aminophore Tight Mask: A tightening-focused formula using amino acid-derived actives. Suits skin that feels lax or low-tone, particularly in the pore zone on the nose and chin.
• Mediu Amino Clearing Mask: Amino acids combined with clearing actives - for skin with congestion, uneven texture, and blemish-prone zones.

The Mediu Amino line is designed for regular use - two to three masks per week from different variants based on the concern most active that week.

Sheet mask technique affects how well the actives deliver:

1. Cleanse face and apply toner before the mask. The toner primes the skin surface for better active absorption.
2. Remove the mask from its foil pouch and unfold carefully. The mask fits most face shapes but may need adjustment at the chin and forehead.
3. Apply to face with eye and mouth cutouts aligned. Press gently to ensure full skin contact - areas with air gaps do not receive the serum properly.
4. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. Longer is not better - masks left on too long start to pull moisture back out of the skin as the sheet dries.
5. Remove and pat the remaining serum gently into the skin. Do not rinse.
6. Apply moisturiser over the serum residue to seal it in.

Using a mask while lying down prevents the sheet from sliding and improves contact on the chin and jaw area.

Usage frequency by concern:

• Reactive, depleted, or post-procedure skin: Sika Calming or Ceramide mask daily for up to two weeks, then reduce to two to three times per week as skin stabilises.
• Routine maintenance: One to three times per week with the Hyaluronic, Ceramide, or Mediu Amino variants based on the current priority concern.
• Anti-aging routine: IMP-Retinol Mask once or twice per week, always in the evening, alternating with a calming or moisture mask to prevent retinol-related dryness.
• Intense dryness treatment: Vaseline Nourishing Mask two to three times per week until the condition resolves, then return to standard hydration masks.

Using multiple masks in rotation across the week is a normal and productive approach with the LEADERS range. A practical rotation for skin with mixed concerns:

• Sunday: Ceramide or Hyaluronic Mask for weekend hydration.
• Tuesday: Mediu Amino Lifting or Moisture Mask for midweek treatment.
• Thursday: IMP-Retinol Mask (if in routine) or Mediu Amino Clearing Mask for pore and texture focus.

Avoid using the Retinol Mask on the same night as a Ceramide or Vaseline Nourishing Mask - the occlusive masks applied after retinol can intensify its penetration and increase irritation risk. On retinol nights, a light toner and minimal additional product over the mask is the better approach.
