KUNDAL Serums

A hair serum is a lightweight silicone or oil-based leave-in product applied after washing and before heat styling or air drying. Unlike a rinse-off conditioner, it stays in the hair and forms a thin protective coating on the hair shaft. This coating reduces friction between strands (which causes frizz and breakage), adds surface shine by reflecting light more evenly, and creates a heat-protective layer that reduces damage from blow-dryers and flat irons.

KUNDAL's Ultra Hair Serum is water-based rather than pure silicone, which makes it lighter on the hair - less prone to build-up than heavier oil-based serums. It is suitable for everyday use without weighing the hair down, particularly on fine to medium-texture hair.

Each variant uses a different fragrance profile while the functional serum base remains consistent. Ylang-Ylang is a rich, tropical floral - the most intense scent in the line. Cherry Blossom is a delicate, light spring floral with a slightly sweet edge. Acacia Moringa is a clean green-floral blend. Blackberry Bay is a fruity-woody combination with a fresh, slightly tart top note. Ember Vanilla is warm, sweet, and amber-forward - the most gourmand option in the collection.

White Mask has a clean, linen-like freshness. Baby Powder is a soft, powdery warmth. Clean Soap reads as a clean, fresh-washed scent. Cleansop is a light, clean variant with minimal fragrance. The base formula without added fragrance is the most neutral option. All variants are designed so the scent lasts a few hours on dry hair rather than fading immediately after application.

Apply to damp hair after washing and towel-drying. Dispense a small amount - one to two pumps for short to medium hair, two to three pumps for long or thick hair - onto the palm. Rub palms together and work through the mid-lengths and ends of the hair, avoiding the scalp and roots. Applying at the roots causes the scalp area to look oily more quickly without adding any benefit, since the roots are newer and stronger hair that needs less treatment.

After applying, either blow-dry or air-dry as normal. The serum works in both cases but provides more noticeable heat protection when used before blow-drying or heat styling. Do not apply too much - over-application leaves the hair looking greasy rather than smooth.

Fine hair: use one pump maximum and work it only into the very ends. Fine hair is more prone to becoming weighed down by serums, so using a small amount and concentrating it at the tips keeps it looking light rather than flat. Medium-thickness hair is the sweet spot for the KUNDAL Ultra Hair Serum - one to two pumps covers the mid-lengths and ends without heaviness. Thick or coarse hair benefits from two to three pumps but may find the serum lighter than needed for severe frizz control, in which case a heavier hair oil layered on top of the serum gives more control.

Chemically treated or color-damaged hair benefits from the protective coating the serum provides. The thin film over each strand reduces further mechanical and heat damage on hair that is already weakened by processing.

The KUNDAL Ultra Hair Serum provides a degree of heat protection when used before blow-drying or styling with a flat iron or curling wand. The film the serum deposits on the hair shaft reduces direct heat contact with the hair cuticle. This is not the same as a dedicated high-heat thermal protectant rated for specific temperatures - for very high heat (above 200°C) or frequent daily heat styling, a stronger dedicated thermal spray may be needed. For moderate blow-drying and occasional heat styling, the Ultra Hair Serum provides meaningful everyday protection alongside its frizz and shine benefits.

The functional result is identical across all fragrance variants. Choosing comes down to personal scent preference and how long you want the fragrance on your hair. If you want a noticeable hair scent that lasts several hours: Ylang-Ylang, Ember Vanilla, or Cherry Blossom. If you want a lighter, background scent: White Mask, Clean Soap, or Cleansop. For a warm, sweet character: Ember Vanilla or Baby Powder. For fresh or fruity: Blackberry Bay or Acacia Moringa. For the least scent: the base unscented formula.

Buying a second or third variant to rotate is straightforward since the 100ml size is compact enough to keep multiple bottles without taking up much space.

All KUNDAL Ultra Hair Serum variants come in 100ml. At one to two pumps per use with daily application, a 100ml bottle lasts approximately two to three months for most users. For very thick or long hair using two to three pumps, it lasts closer to five to six weeks.
