KERASYS is a Korean professional hair care brand with a long presence in domestic salons and retail. The scalp range splits into two functional sub-lines: Scalp Clinic and Scalp Cooling. Clinic targets oily, dandruff-prone, and sebum-excess scalp conditions through a normalising and antimicrobial-focused formula. Cooling targets heat-stressed, itchy, and sensitive scalp conditions through a menthol and botanical cooling approach.

Both sub-lines are available in multiple bottle sizes, from the standard 600ml to the professional-use 1000ml, and include matching conditioners and rinses rather than only shampoos. This makes it possible to build a complete matched-set routine within one sub-line rather than mixing Clinic shampoo with a non-KERASYS conditioner.

The KERASYS Scalp Clinic Shampoo targets scalp conditions associated with excess sebum, flaking, and the irritation that accumulates when the scalp's oil-to-moisture balance is disrupted. The formula uses a zinc-pyrithione or similar antimicrobial active (specific to the batch and size variant) alongside plant extracts that normalise sebum production without stripping the scalp dry.

It suits oily scalp types who experience build-up, itchiness, or visible flaking between washes, and users whose scalps produce enough sebum to make hair appear flat and greasy within 24 hours of washing. The Clinic designation comes from KERASYS's original salon and dermatology clinic distribution, which required a more targeted formula than the brand's standard moisturising shampoos.

KERASYS pairs the Scalp Clinic Shampoo with a Rinse 750ml and a Conditioner 980ml. The Rinse is a lighter conditioner applied only to the mid-shaft and ends rather than the scalp, rinsing fully without leaving residue at the root. It suits oily scalp types who need conditioner for the hair shaft but cannot apply a standard conditioner to the scalp without triggering build-up.

The Conditioner 980ml is the fuller-format conditioner for users with dry ends alongside an oily scalp, who need more intensive conditioning on the hair length. For purely oily scalp with normal or healthy hair shaft, the Rinse 750ml is sufficient. For oily scalp with dry, colour-treated, or damaged ends, the Conditioner provides a heavier conditioning layer where it is needed.

The KERASYS Scalp Cooling Shampoo addresses scalp heat, itchiness, and sensitivity through a menthol-forward formula that delivers a cooling sensation immediately on application. It suits scalps that feel persistently hot, itchy, or irritated without being primarily oily - common in summer, after intense physical activity, or in people with scalp conditions like seborrheic dermatitis where inflammation rather than sebum excess is the dominant symptom.

The cooling effect reduces the itch-scratch cycle: the menthol triggers a cold receptor response that interrupts the itch signal before the physical scratching that damages the scalp barrier. Regular use of the Cooling Shampoo reduces baseline scalp irritation for sensitive scalp types more effectively than a standard shampoo that does not address the itch pathway.

KERASYS offers four bottle sizes across the scalp lines. The 600ml is the standard home retail size lasting approximately two to three months at a standard daily shampoo use of about 5ml to 8ml. The 750ml is a mid-size format offering about three to four months of daily use, suited for solo users who want fewer repurchases without going to the full professional size.

The 980ml and 1000ml sizes are near-professional-refill quantities, lasting four to six months for a solo daily user or two to three months for a two-person household. The Scalp Spa Scalp Essence Serum 70ml is a leave-on scalp treatment applied between wash days or after the shampoo and conditioner step. It delivers concentrated scalp-nourishing actives without the rinse-off formula dilution that occurs during shampooing. The Spa designation reflects a treatment step beyond cleansing, similar to how a face serum adds actives between the toner and moisturiser steps.
