Hair Plus Treatment

HAiR Plus organises its treatments into three distinct lines, each with a specific mechanism:

• Protein Bond Treatment: Rebuilds the internal structure of hair using protein and bonding actives. Best for porous, brittle, or over-processed hair where breakage is the main concern.
• Silk Coating Treatment: Works on the surface cuticle, smoothing it to create a glassy finish and reduce frizz. Best for hair that is structurally okay but rough or dull in texture.
• Velvet Color Bond Treatment: A colour-specific formula designed to extend vibrancy and reduce fade in dyed or highlighted hair while providing conditioning protection.

Choosing the right line matters more than choosing the right size. Protein Bond repairs from within; Silk Coating smooths the outside; Velvet Color Bond protects your colour investment.

The HAiR Plus Protein Bond Treatment is the most repair-focused product in the range. Available in 50 ml, 180 ml, 210 ml, 690 ml, and 700 ml sizes, it uses protein and bond-building chemistry to target the weakened disulfide bonds that form in hair after bleaching or chemical perming.

Apply to clean, towel-dried hair after shampooing. Distribute from mid-lengths to ends, comb through to ensure even coverage, and leave on for 5-15 minutes - longer exposure on very porous or severely damaged hair. Rinse with cool water to seal the cuticle afterwards.

The Protein Bond Moist Treatment (700ml) is a moisture-forward variant for the same repair purpose but with added humectants - useful if your hair is not just damaged but also dehydrated.

The HAiR Plus Silk Coating Treatment works differently from a protein treatment. Rather than penetrating the shaft, its silicone-free coating actives smooth the raised cuticle, which reduces surface friction, controls frizz, and gives hair a reflective finish that reads as healthy and glossy.

It comes in 50 ml portable, 50 ml standard, and 1000 ml sizes. The 1000 ml tub is excellent value if this is your weekly go-to treatment. Use in place of your regular conditioner 1-2 times per week, or as needed before events when you want hair to look its best. Rinse fully - residue build-up over time can make hair feel heavy.

The HAiR Plus Velvet Color Bond Treatment (300ml) is formulated for hair that has been permanently coloured, highlighted, or bleached and toned. It combines conditioning actives with colour-bonding chemistry to slow the rate at which pigment molecules escape the cortex during washing.

For best results, use it as your primary treatment twice per week on colour days. Wash with cool water rather than hot, which opens the cuticle and speeds up colour loss. The combination of regular use and cooler rinse temperatures can meaningfully extend the time between salon appointments or colour top-ups.

HAiR Plus treatments are available in a wider size range than most Korean brands, which makes it easy to trial before committing to a large tub:

• 50 ml portable / 50 ml standard: Single or a few uses - good for travel or for testing a new formula before buying large.
• 180 ml / 210 ml: Mid-range, lasts 4-8 weeks at once-weekly use for shoulder-length hair.
• 300 ml: Standard size - typically 2-4 months at regular use.

The application method matters as much as the formula. A few habits that make the treatments work better:

• Always start on towel-dried hair, not soaking wet - excess water dilutes the product and reduces contact with the hair shaft.
• Apply from mid-lengths to ends. Roots and scalp rarely need a deep treatment, and applying near the scalp can cause buildup that weighs hair down.
• Comb through with a wide-tooth comb after applying - this distributes product evenly and detangles before rinsing.
• Use a shower cap or warm towel wrap for the last 5 minutes of the treatment time. Warmth opens the cuticle slightly and allows better penetration.
• Rinse thoroughly with cool water. The cool temperature seals the cuticle and adds to the smoothing effect.

Frequency depends on the condition of your hair:

• Severely damaged (bleached 2+ times, permed, or heavily heat-styled): Protein Bond Treatment 2 times per week until condition improves, then reduce to once weekly for maintenance.
• Moderately damaged or colour-treated: Velvet Color Bond or Protein Bond once per week. Silk Coating can substitute on alternate weeks for texture improvement.
• Healthy hair, preventive use: Silk Coating once per week or Protein Bond Treatment every 10 days.

Over-using protein treatments on hair that does not need them can cause stiffness and brittleness - a phenomenon called protein overload. If hair starts to feel rough and inflexible rather than soft, reduce protein treatment frequency and add more moisture with the Moist Treatment variant instead.

One practical advantage of the HAiR Plus range is the availability of 50 ml portable sizes for both Silk Coating and Protein Bond.
