Most Korean sheet mask brands center their product story on a single hero ingredient - snail mucin, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide. FARM SKIN's positioning is different: the brand's identity is the sourcing story, with ingredients named after the specific plants they come from (carrot, tomato, mugwort, etc.) and packaging that reflects an agricultural rather than a laboratory aesthetic.

In practice this means the serums tend to use a wider blend of botanical extracts at lower individual concentrations rather than a single active at a therapeutic dose. The result is masks that feel gentle and food-grade rather than active-ingredient heavy - a good fit for skin that reacts to high concentrations of synthetics, or for people who prefer to know exactly where their skincare ingredients come from.

FARM SKIN masks are single-use sheets soaked in serum. The format is standard for Korean sheet masks: unfold, apply to the face, wear for 15-20 minutes, remove, and press remaining serum into the skin without rinsing. Follow with moisturiser to seal in the hydration.

The sheets are made from a breathable cellulose or cotton blend. Thinner sheets (like non-woven and bio-cellulose variants) allow for closer skin contact and faster serum absorption. Thicker cotton sheets hold more serum and tend to stay wetter longer. FARM SKIN's range uses the standard non-woven format appropriate for the serum volumes in each mask.

Plant-derived extracts work through multiple mechanisms depending on the source material:

• Fruit extracts (citrus, tomato, berry): contain alpha-hydroxy acids and vitamin C precursors that provide mild exfoliation and brightening. They are less potent than isolated AHA acids but gentler for daily use.
• Root extracts (carrot, burdock, ginger): typically high in antioxidants and beta-carotene, supporting the skin's defenses against environmental damage.
• Flower essences (rose, centella, chamomile): calming and anti-inflammatory, suitable for reactive skin.
• Leaf extracts (mugwort, green tea, aloe): a broad category ranging from antioxidant-rich (green tea) to soothing (aloe, chamomile).

FARM SKIN masks typically combine several of these categories in one serum, which is why a single mask can address multiple benefits rather than just one.

The standard sequence:

1. Double-cleanse as usual. Sheet masks are applied after cleansing and any toning steps.
2. Open the sachet and unfold the mask. Most masks have a protective film on one or both sides - remove before applying.
3. Align the eye and mouth cutouts, press from the centre outward to remove air pockets.
4. Leave on for 15-20 minutes. Remove before it starts to dry on the face.
5. Press remaining serum into the skin with fingertips. Do not rinse.
6. Apply moisturiser. Sheet masks deliver serum but do not seal it in - the moisturiser step is important to prevent evaporation.

For an enhanced hydration result, refrigerate masks for 30 minutes before use. Cool serum on the skin surface reduces redness and gives a refreshed feeling, particularly in summer or after exercise.

Because FARM SKIN masks are botanically centered, skin-type matching follows the ingredient logic:

• Dry skin: masks with root or honey-based serums provide rich humectant coverage. Look for carrot, beetroot, or grain-derived names in the product line.
• Oily and combination skin: fruit-acid or green vegetable masks (cucumber, green tea, kale) are lighter and less likely to feel heavy under pores.
• Sensitive and reactive skin: flower-based and centella/mugwort variants are the safest choices. Citrus-based masks can occasionally cause mild tingling on reactive skin - test one before committing to a box.
• Dull or uneven skin: tomato and citrus variants provide mild brightening without the potency of a dedicated vitamin C product.

Sheet masks are a supplemental step, not a daily staple for most routines. Two to three times per week is typical. Daily use is possible with very gentle formulas but is usually unnecessary unless the skin is unusually dry or you are preparing for an event.

FARM SKIN masks are on the gentler end of the Korean sheet mask spectrum, so they tolerate more frequent use than active-heavy masks without risk of over-treating the skin. Still, daily masking can delay the skin from regulating its own hydration levels over time - use as needed rather than as a daily replacement for a good moisturiser.

Unopened sheet masks should be stored at room temperature away from direct sunlight. Most have a shelf life of 1-3 years from manufacture, marked on the packaging. Once opened, use immediately - single-use sachets are not designed to be resealed and stored. Refrigeration before use is optional and cosmetic but does not extend shelf life.
