An oxidizer (also called developer or hydrogen peroxide cream) opens the hair cuticle so color molecules can penetrate the cortex, then triggers the color precursors inside the cream to form large, permanent pigment molecules. Without the oxidizer, the color cream is inert. The concentration of hydrogen peroxide in the developer determines how much the hair lightens before the new pigment sets - a concept measured in 'volumes'.

This volume provides enough lift to achieve the target shade from a natural starting level without unnecessary damage. Different shade families rely on the oxidizer differently:

• Natural (N) shades - the oxidizer works to open cuticles and deposit neutral pigment with minimal lift, making them ideal for full gray coverage.
• Golden (G) shades - the oxidizer activates warm gold pigments; higher-level G shades (9G, 10G) need slightly more lift for the brightest result.
• Violet (V) shades - violet pigments are large molecules that require a well-opened cuticle; the oxidizer's lift is important for vibrancy on darker starting hair.
• Control Line shades - AG Gray, TS Silver, BP Blue-purple, and GP Wine are specialty formulas where the oxidizer's role shifts: AG focuses on saturation for resistant gray, TS and BP rely on lift to bring out cool tones on light bases.

The large-capacity bottle is sized for six equal portions - one per color tube. Measure by volume: pour an amount equal to one full 120ml tube of color cream. A kitchen measuring cup or a calibrated mixing bowl makes this straightforward. Never eyeball large batches - too little oxidizer leaves the mix too thick to apply evenly; too much over-thins the cream and accelerates processing unpredictably.

Add the color cream to the mixing bowl first, then pour in the oxidizer. Stir with a tint brush using a folding motion from the bottom of the bowl - avoid vigorous whisking, which incorporates air bubbles that reduce dye efficiency. The finished mix should be smooth and uniform in color with no streaks of unmixed developer. Apply immediately once mixed.

After dispensing one portion, reseal the bottle immediately and store it upright in a cool, dark place. Oxidizer degrades when exposed to light and heat, losing peroxide strength over time. A sealed bottle stored correctly should remain active for the full six-application run. Discard if the liquid changes color significantly or develops a strong, sour smell.

The developer contains hydrogen peroxide, which can irritate eyes, skin, and mucous membranes. Wear gloves during mixing and application. If oxidizer contacts eyes, rinse with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Keep the bottle away from heat sources - peroxide can degrade into oxygen gas and build pressure in sealed containers. Do not store in direct sunlight or near open flames.

Once the oxidizer has been combined with color cream, the mixture must be used immediately and cannot be stored. Leftover mixed product should be diluted with plenty of water before disposal down a drain in compliance with local regulations. The empty oxidizer bottle can be rinsed and recycled where hydrogen peroxide packaging is accepted.
