Estesophy Mineral

White mineral oil (also called light mineral oil or paraffinum liquidum in INCI nomenclature) is a highly refined, odorless, and colorless oil derived from petroleum. It is one of the most widely used carrier oils in professional massage because it is inert, does not go rancid, has excellent spreadability, and is well tolerated by nearly all skin types. It is distinct from heavy mineral oil; the cosmetic-grade 'white' mineral oil used in massage is a lighter fraction designed for skin application.

Fragrance is the most common cause of contact allergic reactions in massage and skin care products. An unscented mineral base eliminates that risk entirely, making it the safe default for any client with unknown or mixed sensitivities. It also suits therapists who want to apply their own essential oil blend to a neutral carrier, or who work in environments where strong scents are inappropriate. The standard White Mineral Massage Oil (1L and 5L) is a conventional oil that leaves a light moisturizing film after use. The Water Solvable Oil White Mineral Unscented (1L and 5L) uses the same mineral base but with emulsifiers added so the product rinses away with warm water. Choose the standard oil when post-massage moisturization is desired; choose the water-soluble version when quick linen turnover or minimal residue is the priority.

The 5L water-soluble mineral oil is also available in 2-piece and 3-piece bundles, reducing per-liter cost for busy studios. At 10L and 15L total respectively, these packs suit practices with daily session throughput where reordering frequently is inconvenient. Storage requirements are modest; the bottles are rectangular and stack efficiently.

Mineral oil provides a longer glide time than plant-based oils because it does not absorb into the skin as readily. This is valued in Swedish and deep-tissue massage where continuous long strokes benefit from sustained lubrication. For techniques requiring more skin traction, such as myofascial release, mineral oil may require using less product or working with the cream format instead.

The 150ml Moist Liquid White Mineral is a compact, lighter-format mineral product suited for travel, daily skin moisturizing, or as a sample size for new clients to take home. It is distinct from the massage oils in viscosity; the Moist Liquid is thinner and applies more like a skin lotion than a massage oil.

White mineral oil is an effective carrier for diluting essential oils. Because it has no competing scent, the essential oil's fragrance comes through clearly. Standard dilution ratios for massage use are 2-3% essential oil by volume in the carrier (for example, 20-30 drops per 100ml). Add the essential oil directly to the amount you plan to use in a session rather than to the full bottle to maintain the fragrance concentration.

Mineral oil does not oxidize or go rancid the way plant oils do. Properly stored in a sealed container at room temperature away from direct sunlight, Estesophy white mineral oil products have a long shelf life.
