Erborian was founded as a collaboration between Korean cosmetic expertise and French cosmetic formulation - the name blends 'erbo' (herb) with 'orien' (orient). The brand is sold through French pharmacies and international beauty retailers, and its positioning fuses the Korean multi-step skincare philosophy (layering, skin-first approach) with European cosmetic precision and elegant packaging. It is not a Korean domestic brand but rather a Western-facing brand built on Korean ingredients and formulation insights.
