When the clay mask contacts air and skin moisture, baking soda and carbonated compounds in the formula react to create a dense foam. The foam physically lifts sebum, dead skin cells, and surface debris away from pores. You apply it as a thin layer, wait about five minutes while it foams up, then rinse with warm water. No scrubbing is needed.

One to two times per week is the recommended frequency for the Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask and the Hell Pore peel-off masks. Using clay masks more often than that can strip the skin's natural oil layer and weaken the barrier over time. If you have very oily skin, twice a week is fine. If your skin is dry or sensitive, once a week is enough.

The thick gel texture stays on the skin without transferring to your pillow. It does not need to be rinsed after the recommended contact time because it is meant to absorb fully by morning.

It provides a short-term brightening effect through two mechanisms. Synthetic diamond powder gently buffs the skin surface during removal, reducing the appearance of dullness. Niacinamide in the formula inhibits melanin transfer and helps even skin tone with repeated use. Immediate results are visible after a single use. Longer-term tone evening requires consistent use over four to eight weeks.

Step 1: Apply the softening patch to the nose and leave it for five minutes. This opens pores and loosens blackheads. Step 2: Remove the softening patch, apply the charcoal adhesive strip, and press it firmly. Leave it for 10 to 15 minutes until mostly dry. Peel from the edges toward the center in one firm motion. The jelly pack in a jar should be sealed tightly after each use and consumed within 12 months of opening. Look for the Period After Opening (PAO) symbol on the packaging for the product-specific recommendation.

The Hell Pore Clean-Up Mask is a pure clay-and-charcoal formula optimized for deep pore extraction. It is the stronger of the two for removing blackheads and excess oil. The Hell Pore Diamond Mask Pack adds synthetic diamond powder and niacinamide, making it a hybrid pore-cleansing and brightening mask. The Diamond version is slightly less aggressive on pores but provides a visible glow and tone-evening benefit the Clean-Up Mask does not have.

Avoid using clay or peel-off masks on the same night as retinol or AHA/BHA exfoliants. Both types of products accelerate cell turnover or exfoliation, and combining them can cause redness, sensitivity, and temporary barrier disruption. If you use retinol, schedule clay masks on alternating nights. Collagen Jella Packs and sheet masks are safe to layer the same night as most serums but should still be separated from active retinol nights to avoid product incompatibility.
