Fresh is the most versatile option and the one most people default to - a clean, light scent that reads as neutral in most contexts and does not clash with other fragranced products like perfume or styling spray. Tropical carries a warmer, fruit-forward accord suited to summer or anyone who prefers a bolder signature from their hair product. Paradise shares tropical notes but with a slightly sweeter, sunscreen-adjacent character.

Unicorn is the most distinctive in the range: a candy-fruity scent with a stronger fragrance presence. It is polarising, so if you have not used it before and are fragrance-sensitive, Fresh is the safer starting point. Original is the lightest fragrance option in the standard range, closest to an unscented product, and is available in the 50ml travel size as well as 200ml.

Traditional dry shampoos use starch or talc as the primary oil-absorbing agent. When these particles land on dark hair, they create a visible white coating that requires thorough brushing out to disappear - and even then, roots can look chalky. COLAB's formula uses finely milled oil-absorbing agents sized to remain invisible on contact, including on dark brunette or black hair.

Effective application makes a difference. Hold the can 20 to 30cm from the root, spray in short bursts, and wait 30 seconds before massaging with fingertips and brushing through. Spraying too close deposits too much product in one spot, which can create a visible patch even with an invisible-formula product.

The Parfum range - Parfum Dry Shampoo Tropical 200ml (labelled 1 Parfum), Parfum Dry Shampoo Unicorns 200ml (labelled 2), and Parfum Dry Shampoo Fresh 200ml (labelled 1 Parfum Fresh) - uses the same base dry shampoo formula but with an elevated fragrance load. These are the correct choice if you want your hair to carry a noticeable, sustained scent between washes rather than just a light freshening.

The Parfum line is not a separate hair-care formula - the oil-absorbing, texture-refreshing performance is the same as the standard range. The upgrade is purely in fragrance intensity and projection. If you are sensitive to strong scents, the standard Fresh or Tropical in the core line will suit you better.

The Vegan Hair Dry Shampoo 200ml is formulated without any animal-derived ingredients and is certified suitable for a vegan routine. The base oil-absorbing performance is consistent with the rest of the COLAB range, and the formula is also designed to be cruelty-free. This is the variant to choose if you are building a hair-care routine around plant-derived or synthetic ingredients only.

The Vegan Hair option carries a lighter, neutral scent profile rather than one of the named fragrances in the standard range. It is the closest COLAB comes to a fragrance-minimal dry shampoo, making it an option for fragrance-sensitive users who also want to avoid animal derivatives.

The standard 200ml can is the core size for home use and provides roughly two to three months of regular dry-shampoo use (every two to three days, for most people). At this size, all six scent variants are available. The 50ml Original is the only travel-size option currently in this collection - sized for carry-on compliance and short trips.

If you are trying COLAB for the first time, the 50ml Original provides a low-cost trial. Once you confirm the formula works for your hair type, moving to a 200ml in your preferred scent is the more economical long-term choice.

Section the hair to expose the roots before spraying. Hold the can at arm's length (20 to 30cm from the scalp) and use short 1 to 2 second bursts rather than a long continuous spray. This prevents product buildup in one area and distributes the formula more evenly. After spraying, wait 30 seconds for the oil-absorbing agents to work before touching the hair.

Massage the product in with your fingertips, working in circular motions at the root to break up any clusters. Follow with a brush or comb to distribute further and remove any visible product. Applying to hair that is slightly warm (right after removing a hat or after mild activity) gives the formula more oil to absorb and generally produces more visible volume lift at the root.

Dry shampoo is a between-wash tool, not a replacement for cleansing. Most people who use COLAB build a routine around washing hair every two to four days and using dry shampoo on the non-wash days when roots start to flatten or look oily. Apply the morning after washing when roots are beginning to show oil rather than waiting until the hair looks visibly dirty - earlier application blends more invisibly and needs less product.

Avoid layering dry shampoo multiple days in a row without washing. Residue builds up on the scalp and can block follicles if left too long. Two to three consecutive dry shampoo days before a full wash is the practical limit for most hair types without causing scalp congestion.

Fine hair: Fresh or Original in 200ml. Fine hair picks up oil quickly and benefits from the volume-refreshing effect of dry shampoo every one to two days. The lighter-weight spray distributes easily through thin strands without weighing them down if used in small amounts.

Thick or coarse hair: Tropical or Paradise in 200ml. Thicker hair requires slightly more product to get the root area thoroughly covered. The stronger fragrance variants (Parfum Tropical or Parfum Fresh) also suit thick hair well since more hair mass dilutes fragrance faster.

Color-treated hair: any COLAB variant is safe for color-treated hair as the formula does not contain harsh stripping agents. Blonde or highlighted hair benefits from the invisible application but should still confirm the Original or Fresh works without any tint before committing to a full bottle.
