A modeling pack is an alginate-based wash-off mask. You mix the powder with cold water, apply an even layer across the face, wait 15-20 minutes while it solidifies, then lift the set mask away from chin to forehead. Unlike sheet masks, the mask forms a seal that limits water evaporation and lets the active ingredients absorb under light pressure - which is why estheticians use them as a finishing step after serums or peels.

ANSKIN packs come in three weight ranges. The 240 g packs yield roughly 3-5 full-face applications depending on how thickly you apply. The 450 g packs are the most common mid-tier choice - enough for 6-8 uses at home. The 1000 g Pearl pack is a professional or family refill that works out cheaper per use but requires airtight storage after opening to prevent the powder clumping with humidity.

The standard ratio is 1 part powder to 2-2.5 parts cold water, but the Cool Ice variant can take slightly more water since the menthol makes it feel denser. Always use cold water - warm water accelerates setting, which shortens your application window to under 5 minutes and makes spreading difficult. Mix briskly for about 30 seconds until you reach a lump-free, pourable paste, then work quickly.

Start with cleansed skin. Apply a thin layer of toner or serum first if you want the modeling mask to sit over actives - the sealed environment boosts penetration. Use a flat brush or spatula to spread a 3-5 mm layer from the center outward, avoiding the eye area and lips. Lie flat for the setting period. To remove, loosen one edge at the chin and peel upward in a single motion. Rinse any residue with cool water.

Both address pore visibility, but from different angles. The charcoal variant uses adsorption to draw out surface impurities, making it better for oily or congested skin. The gold clarifying formula relies on mineral brightening and mild firming rather than deep pore extraction. If your main concern is blackheads and excess oil, go charcoal. If you want a post-facial glow with a tightening sensation but your skin is drier or more sensitive, the gold option is a gentler choice.

The Natural Centella Modeling Pack suits skin that reacts to active ingredients or is recovering from redness. Centella asiatica extract supports the skin barrier, so this formula can be used after a mild chemical exfoliant when you want to soothe rather than stimulate. It is also a reasonable daily-use option for sensitive skin types who find the charcoal or vitamin C versions too stimulating.

Alginate powder absorbs moisture from the air. Once the bag is open, transfer any unused powder to an airtight container or resealable bag and store away from direct sunlight and humidity. Clumped powder still works if you break the lumps before mixing, but the paste will not be as smooth. The 1000 g Pearl pack in particular warrants proper sealing since it is meant for repeated use over several months.

For most skin types, once or twice a week is sufficient. The Centella variant can be used up to three times a week on reactive skin. Avoid using modeling packs on active breakouts, open skin, or immediately after aggressive mechanical exfoliation. If you use retinoids or prescription actives, wait at least 24 hours after application before masking.
